The two-act rock-opera “Gregory the Illuminator” authored
by A. Albert, A. Sukiasyan and A. Harutyunyan is a unique composition
in the Armenian music theatre life, being the first in its style and
presenting the ideological conflicts of two State and Religious leaders
of Armenian reality, after which in 301 A.D. Armenia adopted Christianity
as a State Religion. Courageous staging... colorful tones... symbolic pictures...
high quality vocal and ballet performances... mass scenes... dynamism...
crazy rhythms...and all that in this opera...
The open air performance took place in July 16, 2001 in Yerevan at
the “Cascade” Complex.
